SECURE SHOPPING
Secure Shopping on the Internet is everyone's business, including ours. Running Bare Trading Limited (“RBUK”) is committed to a safe and secure E-Commerce shopping experience for you, the consumer. As such, the following is a description of how our E-Commerce technology handles the use of your credit card information.
When you shop at www.runningbare.co.uk prior to initiating the checkout process, your web browser is operating normally in an "unsecured" mode. As a result, the data that www.runningbare.co.uk sends to your web browser and the data that you send back to www.runningbare.co.uk is not encrypted.
When you submit your order, www.runningbare.co.uk’s E-Commerce server then contacts an electronic Payment Processor ( Protx) and starts the encryption mode with your web browser. This is known as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology. You will be notified of the SSL encryption by the following message:
If you are using a Netscape browser you can check the security of your connection by looking at the lower left-hand corner of your browser window after accessing the server. For Internet Explorer check the little boxes near the lower right-hand corner. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser type), then SSL is active.

You enter your credit card information directly onto the electronic Payment Processor’s (Protx) secure banking network environment, where all your encrypted financial information it is subsequently unencrypted and the Payment Processor contacts the applicable banks to transfer the funds. The Payment Processor is a certified company that has access to the international banking computer network.
Protx provides very high levels of internet and physical security to ensure sensitive information is never compromised.
Protx security measures are as follows;
• credit/debit card details are secured within 128-bit encrypted sessions. • sensitive information is stored on a heavily encrypted database that is protected by multiple government firewalls. • approved additional security measures include a security key that is used to produce an MD5 hash value. Hash values are often used as digital signatures as they cannot be reversed to obtain the original information. They allow the receiver to validate that the information received is identical to that sent.
Please note that your credit card information is never kept on the www.runningbare.co.uk’s E-Commerce server. It is never at risk since it does not reside in any customer order history on www.runningbare.co.uk‘s E-Commerce server. Should RBUK ever be required to refund your purchase funds, our E-Commerce server will access your credit card details within the secure banking network to reverse the transaction.. The reversal of the transaction will then appear on your next credit card statement.
