Why wear a FitFlop? So many reasons….
1. FitFlop midsole is uses a micro-wobbleboardTM technology, that work out your legs while you walk. In the midsole there is varying densities of EVA under your feet each time you step, to challenge the support and balance muscles of the foot and leg.
2. The Multi-density midsole stimulates your muscles more while you are wearing them. They increase your gluteal muscle (Bottom) hamstring, thigh and calf muscle response
3. Every step you take will help tone your legs! Studies at Salford University have shown that the FitFlop midsole extends the amount of time that the slow twitch muscles are engaged during each step. That means they convert fat into energy aerobically for longer!!
4. They work your bum muscles more, as your gluteus maximus muscle is activated for longer in your average step
5. They work hard to tone your thighs by activating the thigh muscles for longer than your average shoe
6. They are super cushioned and comfy! The added cushioning of the EVA midsole helps to reduce joint strain and absorb shock.

Fit Flop Tip 1
Narrow or Wide Feet?
If you’ve got narrow/flat feet and you’re between FitFlop sizes, you’ll have more success ordering a size down than a size up. Because the FitFlop midsole is generous in length, the most important thing to fit is the upper strap size. If your feet are narrow or flat (or both) err on the side of SMALLER.
Fit Flop Tip 2
I normally wear orthotics. Can I wear FitFlops?
The FitFlop has been designed with a regularly shaped footbed, however, the multi-density midsole create a micro-wobble board action that challenges the muscles of the foot and arch, and therefore might not be suitable for everyone who needs orthotics. We recommend that you err on the side of caution and consult your podiatrist prior to wearing FitFlops if you currently rely on orthotic support
Fit Flop Tip 3
Can I wear FitFlops if I am pregnant?
Again, we'd recommend that pregnant women check with their obstetrician or GP first, before engaging in a fitness routine based around, or a lot of walking in the FitFlop. Because a pregnant woman's tendons are more susceptible to stretching, minor variances in gait and foot flexion caused by use of the FitFlop might lead to muscle soreness or hyperextension. Note: Walking in FitFlops is an excellent way to get back in shape post-partum.

Fit Flop Tip 4
Are they as suitable for hill walking as velcro trekking sandals?
Unfortunately not. FitFlops are not suitable for hill walking or mountain hiking. They are quite open and airy on the foot, and will not protect it from rough terrain or weather. FitFlops are designed for everyday use and everyday walking, to be worn by time-short individuals who may not be able to get to the gym, but want to make sure they get a 'workout while they walk'.
For more information, call or email one of our stores and they will be happy to answer any questions you have about your new FitFlops!
